2 reviews for In Flanders Fields (SATB)
Ardelle Ries –
Christine Donkin’s a cappella setting of “In Flanders Fields” for mixed choir is a superb musical expression of McCrae’s exquisitely beautiful text. Donkin skillfully reflects the phrase structure and dramatic intensity of the poem through the use of lyrical melodic line and sensitively constructed harmonic rhythm. An accessible, interesting, and hauntingly beautiful setting.

Heartily agree with Ardelle! This is a beautiful selection for church or a Remembrance Day ceremony or a concert with the theme of Remembrance.
The word painting is lovely and the piece is challenging, but not too hard.
This is going to become a staple in our church rep. for around that time of year.
